5/15/1865, a wagon train carrying high ranking government officials, the personal baggage of Jefferson Davis, documents, the remains of the Confederate Treasury, (gold coin) stopped at Senator David Levy Yulee' s Cotton Wood Plantation near Archer, Florida . The group scattered but all were arrested. Officials were pardoned and given high-ranking positions in the new federal government- the gold was never found.
